It's not just the centre of Dublin that's buzzing on the foodie front. Monkstown, Blackrock and Dún Laoghaire have plenty of cracking places for a bite or a beer. We're rounded up a few of our favourites for you to check out for your next takeaway.
1. Rage Restaurant
Long live the king of all burgers, the Raging Smoky Stack. Whiskey glazed beef burger, crispy tobacco onions, smoked applewood and jalapeño cheese sauce, lettuce, tomato, smoked streaky bacon on brioche with smoky Texan skinny fries 👌💯 #burgerheaven #king #allhail #smokestack #Rage #ragerestaurant #delicious #burger #beef #meatstack #bacon #cantgowrong #perfection #treatyourself
Blackrock is the setting for this flame-grilled specialist with plenty of deep south U.S. of A. vibes. Check out their signature Cajun-spiced chicken breast, it's been given the smoky flame treatment and served with rice and a zingy Cajun sauce.
If you're in the mood for surf and turf, try chargrilled black tiger prawn skewers and a burger combination. Nothing beats a prime beef burger licked by fire, and Rage turns up the heat with their mighty Smoky Stack – finished with smoky bacon, tobacco onions, smoked cheese and Jameson glaze.

2. Dunne & Crescenzi
It all began with a little enoteca in Sutton opened by husband and wife team Eileen Dunne and Stefano Crescenzi. Fast forward 20 years and they run a much loved Irish-Italian food empire with half a dozen restaurants and cafés, plus a grocery shop and cookbook.
Their Blackrock venue follows the winning blueprint – simple Italian food using the best ingredients and a good dose of Mediterranean passion. From enticing antipasti and fresh pastas to glorious grills and proper pizzas using 24-hour risen dough, it's a menu of our favourite Italian dishes prepared with extra love.

3. The Dark Horse
Run by the crafty folk at Galway Bay Brewery, the Dark Horse is getting things rocking in Blackrock. This specialist beer bar brims with hand crafted and small batch brews. For full-on flavour, check out their own core range: the chocolate milk stout Buried at Sea, classic IPA Althea, the red toned Bay Ale and the fruity Full Sail.
And if you feel like nibbles with your beer, they've only got one choice but it's pure perfection: a kilo bucket of chicken wings, doused in their own 'Of Foam and Fury' hot sauce. Tasty beers and a bucket of wings – what more could anyone possibly need?
