Looking for a breakfast feast? From Irish Breakfast Crepe to nutritious Granola, look no further!

You must have heard it a thousand times: breakfast is the most important meal of your day – so why settle? You might be able to get away with a meagre sandwich or a quick bite at the pub during your lunch break, but you can't afford to skip the meal that is the start of your day. A good breakfast is a proper feast: hearty food to get you going and keep your energy levels high, nutritious, and packed with flavour to set your mood right before you head out the door. And lucky for us all, there are plenty of different types of breakfast to choose from!

1. Crepe

We understand the fascination with American pancakes – but the French were onto something when they came up with the idea to wrap their favourite ingredients into a thin layer of delicious fried dough. And because we are Irish, we always take it up a notch: just head over to Le Petit Breton for a taste of the best of both worlds – their signature Irish Breakfast Crepe.

A succulent crepe dough that is filled with lardons, black pudding, sausage, mushrooms, tomato and a whole egg? You really cannot get more Irish in your French crepe than that! You can also share one of their specialty sweet crepes to finish: try La Bretonne, with homemade salted butter caramel sauce, sprinkled with dark chocolate shavings and topped with whipped cream.

2. Eggs Benedict

If there is one thing that is unanimously associated with breakfast, it is eggs. Sunny side up, an omelette, or scrambled? If you are looking to spice things up and keep your choice of eggs as healthy as they come, you should really go for Eggs Benedict: nutritious poached eggs that sit on top of a generous slice of good old ham or delicious smoked salmon, served on toasted bread or English muffin, and topped with sinful Hollandaise sauce? Probably the perfect way to start your day.

Farmer Browns are renowned for their brunch – and of course Eggs Benedict is a favourite on their menu. You can also find the famous Huevos Rancheros here, or the more humble version of Free Range Eggs on Toast.

3. Breakfast Pastries

Croissant or muffin? That is the question. The eternal clash between our favourite breakfast pastries only serves to highlight their undeniable importance as part of our breakfast culture!

Lucky for you, while it is great to have choice, you don't always have to choose: you could have it all. At Fallon and Byrne Deli, they appropriately call it Breakfast Meeting Fuel – they give you a choice of breakfast pastries to keep you happy through the day. Croissant is of course included, along with pain au chocolat, pain au raisin and banana and pecan muffin.

4. Granola, Fruit and Yoghurt

At the end of the day, breakfast is really all about nutrition – and if you are one of the people who prefer their morning fuel as healthy as can be, there is nothing more appropriate than creamy yoghurt served with granola and fruit.
